I'm Pre-washing Fabrics

I have decided to pre-wash all my fabrics before I sew with them. I already was doing this for fabrics that touch food, like snack bags, but not for other items. I figured there wasn't much point in doing this for bags and accessories since you can just spot clean them if they do end up getting dirty, but now I want them to all be washable. Plus, I have recently become aware that many fabrics are treated with chemicals and who needs those lingering around on your hands? It is the best thing for you and me that I wash them first. I use free & clear laundry detergent.

Machine wash instructions for Sweet Sparrow products:
  • I suggest hand washing with a mild detergent like Woolite and allowing to air dry.  It it is a lined item, like a handbag or pouch, pull the lining fabric out so that the layers can dry individually.
  • Most items will require a medium to high iron setting after it's dry.
  • Use a tissue or a towel inside the bag after drying to help keep its shape.
